Human beings should have love in their hearts. It is in being able to love all and serve all, everyone and everything in the universe - that one can make the human life meaningful.
From love stems all other values which are essential like kindness, compassion, respect, integrity, honesty, morality.
For example, Respect: is more meaningful when it is borne out of love. If it is born out of fear, then that respect is induced by force, Any value that stems from love, is from the source and not by force and hence more lasting and real.
Thus, love is the essential and everlasting foundation for all the other human values which make a human being.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Two things:
One, love the Lord, the Living God, above all things with your whole heart, mind and soul.
Two, love your neighbor, anyone you meet, as well as you love yourself.
With these two laws in mind, you will become a loving and kind human being capable of securing eternal life through Jesus Christ.

A rapacious self-interest and ruthless disregard for the well-being of others, coupled with total disregard for law.
Heck, it's worked for the Republicans.
