The same reason the get on it as soon as the walk out the house, or get in the car at a store and take off instead of finishing the call first

Actually, I'm more concerned with them attempting to drive their cars while on the cell phone.

That's why it's called a mobile phone it should not in anyway restrict your movement except of course if you are doing something that needs concentration and focus like driving

coz it's mobile, it's wireless, so u can move freely!
beside walking might release stress alil bit!
but if u hadn't notice, when ppl talk over phone they don't just walk around they change thier posture according to what is said :P looking to the ground, lefting up like a howeling wolf, shaking shoulders, ....
so, walk, man... walk, it's healthy!

It gives extra comfort and momentum to speaking process ie when moving and talking all other muscles & vains are also tuned, or what, you feel it yourself something more than the forced limits.
