They say yes, due to deeper penetration. But the only real solution is to make sure you have SOME kind of sex during your fertile time.

No, it does not.
If you are trying to conceive, try the following:
Have sex every other day. A 48-hour rest period allows the sperm count to rebuild between ejaculations.
Start having sex on the 9th day after your first bleed day and continue through the rest of your cycle, on the every-other-day system.
As boring as it is, missionary position (girl on bottom) is best for conception. The woman should, immediately after ejaculation, elevate her hips with one or two pillows and lay on her back for 20-30 minutes. This will give the cervix (the entryway into the uterine cavity) more time to be in contact with the seminal fluid, hence more chance of more sperm entering the cavity and finding their way to the fallopian tubes. Also, gravity works...it will help the sperm swim in the right direction.
As an FYI, there is no hard-and-fast way of conceiving a boy or girl; those are all old wives' tales, so if you're looking to get pregnant, just be happy you succeed, and don't stress about the gender! : ) Good luck

I've not heard that, however an old wives' tale that was around when I had my kids had something about that position (with a lot of other temperature taking/foods etc) being the most successful for the conception of a male baby. Male sperm are stronger swimmers, female sperm live longer....the idea was I think the positioning made the work of the male sperm easier. Could be an urban myth!
you could check it out - if it's true you may be right.

Some studies indicate that if the woman has an orgasm, it improves the chances that she will become pregnant (something about drawing the sperm to the egg and some hormonal changes). So I guess it depends on what she likes.
