Search for MSN Web Messenger. It's the same as the downloaded version but a lot more basic & doesn't require downloading, but will obviously allow you to chat as you want!

You should change the name of the MSN file, it'd be considered a virus if it wasn't a Windows product. It starts each time you start your computers, even when you go to your MSCONFIG and turn it off from the Startup Tab (Google msconfig to figure out how to use this feature).
Meebo is a good web-based messenger application that lets you not just use MSN but other messengers.
Trillian and GAIM are the same, but they are not browser based, but rather you have to download them.

NO. MSN Messenger is a program that embeds itself onto your sytem and allows you to receive messages on your PC. For this softwre to work, you must download the executable file.
If you wnat an alternative, you should try Gmail. It allows you to chat with other members without additional software onj your PC. This program is ran from the Internet and allows you to communicate with other gmail members in real time. Check it out!

If you can't download or install anything, then "Web Messenger".
Otherwise, GAIM or Trillian support about all of the chat clients.
Ask. There maybe one they prefer or, have even purchased and have support for.
They'd rather have you use that than something on the sly.

Yes, because I am "naughty" and use MSN WebMessenger from here http://webmessenger.msn.com/
It won't work, however, if you have a pop up blocker enabled.
Please be careful though, some firms check their servers and can see what their employers are looking at. Plus, don't forget to clear your History every day!
