Which is better...a direct democracy or a representative democracy?

Me personally I would prefer to have a direct democracy. Power to the people!!!

Direct democracy because the people have the right to choose their leader unlike in a representative democracy wherein the people chooses their representatives by states and these electoral college selects the president.

Depends on the size of the country.
I prefer the Swiss system, where every law has to be passed by the people in a direct referendum.
OTOH that is a bit too slow to handle foreign relations or a war.
