Yes, I do. As is said, "When in Rome, do as the Roman's do." If she wants to keep her veil on, she should go back to her own country.

I am a practicing muslim and do not know exactly what her job was, so I will give a general answer. If the veil interfere with her proper undertaking of the job then remove it or leave. If it does not then why any one should care to see her face, that is her choice. The situation is completely different in regard to head scarves, I do not think they interfer with most of jobs on the earth, and they need not to baned like the French have done. That was really discriminatory. I think Britain is much better than many other Europian countries when it comes to human rights.

I think it is an enlightened understnading of how far the private or community rights could be allowed, in enforcing the general law of the land. I like the reasoning. More and more parading of personal and sectarian symbols are discouraging the people to integrate with others. The exclusiveness is detrimental to the collective national consciousness. It is a beatiful rationale. I agree.

If she was going to go out into the community and work, she should have expected to conform to the mores of her environment and not an age old dictum. No one wants to work or talk with a woman with a covered face.
