No. In the Western ideal the terrorist is a scapegoat. He doesn't exist nor have any westerners ever seen a terrorist. But he's real enough in our minds, an insane crazed lunatic praying to perverted Islam.

When people talk about 9/11 they forget that there is no completely hard evidence to link Osama or Hussein to the bombings. But they believe them. This achievement of media is it's triumph, and it's tragedy.

The Government likes to conjure up boogeymen. Before, it was Russians and Communists. Now, it's Terrorists, Liberals and Chavez. These are your enemies, and you must be afraid. You must buy the things that will hurt them. You must vote for the men who will not support them.

Of course there's no Al Qaeida. It's been years and this high-profile terrorist group appears to be completely invisible. Think about this; if governments were truly fighting a secret war against organised murderers, would they even be in the habit of confirming their existance let alone spreading information about them? Surely this would cause confusion and panic: rather against the interests of 'National Security'. Unless these mistakes were intentional.

The terrorism threat to America does not exist. At least, not at all in its popular context - mad mullahs ready to blow themselves up. Suicide bombings are a very recent development of warfare in the middle east. Islamic Jihad made news in 1983, when a bomber drove a truck into the American embassy in Beirut, killing 63 people, including a great number of CIA agents. A press agency was called later and identified themselves as Iranians against the Imperial presence. Why haven't we attacked Iran for twenty years?

Because things don't work like that. Where are the terrorists? Everywhere, nowhere, somewhere. Nothing more confusing. Look how Saddam was tooted as a terrible threat. And the bombings around the world- there is little evidence to point them towards dissillusioned Arabs, and some of that evidence has been fabricated. Far more Americans have died from car accidents, cancer, smoking, obesity - their own swollen greed - than ever dying from mad terrorists. And they have the audicity to brand Muslims as terrorists, without able to take their eyes of the TV screen.

Terrorism in the form depicted on television does not exist.

People with intelligence should think of television as either a party political program or an advertisement.

Taking TV first, then we know that it is completely controlled by a few Zionist families, who are constantly forwarding their agenda for world take over. Keep ing people terrified means they remain subdued, and very easy to control and manipulate.

Previous answerers have mentioned the hijackings of 9/11, tand he London tube bombings.

There is extremely strong evidence to show that 9/11 was an inside job, and that there were in fact no hijackings.

The London tube bombings have exactly the same hallmark, with the fingerprints of MI5 and MI6 all over it.

We have recently discovered that the IRA was funded by the secret services, and could therefore be considered to be an extension of them. If we discounted all so-called terrorism which has been organised and/or conducted by the secret services of CIA/FBI/MI5/MI6/Mossad (Israel) and ISI (Pakistan), then there would be very little, if any, terrorism to account for.
The recent increase in suicide bombings in Iraq is easily explained by an understanding of depleted uranium.
The shells used in the Iraq war (and Desert storm and Kosovo before it) are a new type of shell incorporating depleted uranium. When exploded they release a fine mist of radio-active uranium. This radiation contacts the lungs and organs of anyone in the vicinity, and they rapidly begin to suffer from cancer, and know that they are soon to die, in great pain.
Under these circumstances, they are only too keen to die, and to be able to take some of their tormentors with them. In the same circumstances, many of the readers here would want to commit suicide.

So, to answer the question in simple terms, terrorism does exist, and, like the war on drugs etc, is totally organised and controlled by the secret services.
and - no-one should base their beliefs on what they see on TV, or read in the newspapers, but on their own factual experience. For those involved as a survivor in a so-called terrorist attack, do they actually know for sure who created the attack, or are they basing their thinking on propaganda?

Terrorism exist, but the media has found that the use of the word really gets the ratings up. As part of its agenda, the media must keep the public in a constant state of fear. If the public was not afraid of its own shadow, then people would soon discover that there was nothing worth watching on the news, and all of those high-priced actors on the evening news would be out of jobs, advertising rates would go down and products in stores would be cheaper. I say throw the TV out----I did three years ago and I do not miss it. I get all the news and weather I need off the Internet every morning. If you insist upon being entertained in the evening by the bozos at 6 and 10, then do not believe half of what they tell you. They all go to acting school as part of their journalism training, so be careful.

Yes it does exist.
OTOH the relative importance of terrorism is way overblown by the media. These guys make big headlines but have absolutely no impact whatsoever.
There were similar movements before, even as early as the 10th century, and all were made extinct by the combination of police type and military actions. Same thing will happen here.

Terrorism is an act that terryfies people. Terrorism is not only the bombings and the killings. The most important act of terrorism is the psychological terrorism. To make people fear of their neighbour, of their community and of whatever is different! This kind of terror actually exists and this kind of terror generates the terrorism in the shape of bombings and killings. TV is the best way to control the public, to make the public feel threatened, to force people to debates that will enforce rasistic behaviours about things that you may not found threatening in the past and to make things easier for the goverments to force laws that will help them in their plans. Terrorism is also the act of attacking a country , making war and create fear to the civilians for their lives. In these forms terrorism exists, the only way to stop it is to become stronger and not fear, to filter what we hear and to judge with our judgement and not others and to try to understand what is logical and what is not by listening to all the sides.

Terrorism exists. Here in UK we have suffered thirty or more years of it from the IRA - during which time hundreds were killed and many more hundreds maimed and injured. Ordinary citizens going about their lawful business. What planet are you living on? Wake up - London and the rest of UK are high targets on the list of Al Qaida.

those cities were filled with innocent people, they weren't army bases - the next einstein could have been among them! but because they were 'communists' people didnt give a flying f*ck

As you can see, terrorism exists. But the TV tells you many things, it is often manipulative leaving out important details or overemphasising other things. You should just watch 'quality' TV programmes. The 7 o'clock news is not like this...
