Winter is coming, we can't leave the windows open for very long time and washed clothes won't dry easily if we just hang them out in the room. What is the best way that minimises the drying time? Shall I hang them out next to the radiator, window, etc.? What works for you?
O, and we don't have a washer-drier or similar.

I like the radiator as well, but you can also buy a drying rack from most grocery stores or Target or WalMart. This holds items than a radiator will and you won't have to worry about clothes catching on fire. THey usually dry overnight and the rack does not take up much space when open and you can fold it down and put in a closet when you are not using it.

Put them on clothes hangers and hang them off the curtain-rail in the window. You can open the windows when its dry but just hanging there with the windows shut does them quite quickly and even better if your radiators below your window like most are.

Hi Zolley, i have the same problem!
I Just had a great thought though!
If you have a dehumidifier put that on next to you washing and hang it in the kitchen or lounge/diner on one of thoses white indoor clothes horses things!
Then the dehumidifier will draw in the water and help prevent damp in the room the washing is drying!!!
I will try this myself next time i do my washing!
They are energy efficient too!
Good luck!

Get a clothes drier, and hang your clothes on this in the bathroom with the door shut!! Your clothes will dry in no time.

I put mine on a clothes horse beside the radiator in the spare room and open the window. Not sure if you have a spare room though.

Indoor airers that hang on the radiator are good because the clothes don't get dirt on them from grubby radiators, or damaged by direct heat and you can fit more clothes on than just draping them directly on.

Any attempt to dry washing needs energy - heat. You can suffer washing everywhere, this makes the place cold and humid and the heat to dry it comes from the central heating - it is not 'free'.

Invest in a condensing dryer

I like to dry it in the bathroom, this way when taking a shower the steam straightens the clothes and saves me time ironing. additionaly, it's kept private and not every guest coming to the apartment sees my laundry.

if you are in a rush and need those pair of wet jeans - tip:
using a blow dryer hot air inside them.

I like to use the wooden clothes rack next to a heat vent. Works best for me.
