the damage you speak of is caused by the strong adhesive to the delicate material. if you want a pad to stay in place, buy some with wings and wear them with snug fitting panties.

The easiest way to keep it in place is to wear tight fitting undies so it hasn't space to move.
Some brands also do pads with wings which help to keep it in place.
