its never to late

2006-10-19 22:42:53 · answer #1 · answered by ms sensible 3 · 1 0

I have never known anyone over the age of 24 who learned the guitar from scratch- whether electric or acoustic- and managed to ever get past the rudimentaries.

Having said that, electric guitar is WIDE OPEN so anything is possible. That's what makes the leectric guitar so exciting.

It's easy to learn how to play the guitar badly, but VERY hard to learn how to play it well. The big secret is to play with REAL PEOPLE, and play real tunes that have a beginning, a middle and an end. Play with people who are slightly better than you. I say go for it!!!

How long it takes to learn guitar depends on how good you want to get and how much practice you put in. How good you can get with 1-2 hours a day for a few months depends on what methods you use to practice. There are effective practice methods that will help you make the best use of your time. This course is one of the best. https://bitly.im/aMSQv It's not just about how much you play but how effectively you play that will determine how good you will get.

15 years old too late...are you kidding me?? You are a perfect age to start playing. Go for it and enjoy!! If you really put in the work I see no reason you couldn't get in a high school band over the next 3 years. I have seen kids your age make more progress in 1 year than I can in 3 years.

You can start anytime. The secret to really good playing becomes apparent when you are playing a piece in a particular song,in a band situation, and you improvise and make the piece your own.To get this good you need to put the hours into practice. One more word of advice, get into a band right now. Does'nt really matter what type, you can always move on, but the experience is invaluable to you now.

Some people have a natural talent to
play really good guitar in a short time.
Others can play all their lives and never play good.
I started playing guitar at 75 and can play
good enough to play for sing-a-longs with a
piano player. This satisfies me. I could get really
good if I practiced, but I'm as good as I want to get.

I can stand my own inadequacies.

Just go do it.

Are you mad? Never! You start playing now but do it correctly. Start with acoustic, with teacher and study a bit theory and harmony too. Exercise as much as you can and after a period (depending on your progress) you ll pick the electric and you ll be so much sutisfied with yourself...So much...Just try, have patience and everything will be fine....If you love music it is worthy.

The true answer here is at the age when you believe you cant do it.

Until then you CAN do it... Just put the effort in, find a good tutor ( a registered one) and practice in a structured way...

Then you can make it!
