well, we like to expose the hardcore truth even it means we will be harming ourselves...lol. What I love about this place is the weather, the MEAT(all natural!!!), the people, the many different cultures, the way of life, the fact that despite all the sh*t that goes on in this place people still go about life as positively as possible.... I ahve been overseas and ther thing I have learned is that...THERE IS NO PLACE ON THIS PLANET AS CRAZY AND YET STILL BEAUTIFUL AS South Africa.....Proudly South African...always!!!

Many things. First thing I'll buy on Joburg International though (or whatever it's called now), when getting back to SA next August, is a Steers burger, followed by a pepper-steak pie.
I miss the no-nonsense, no-frills strong South African spirit, campfires on the beach at Cool Bay, the spring oak leaves in Dorp street, Stellenbosch, my old Yamaha six-string, drinking good brandy or Amstel with my brother while warming next to a rooikrans fire, Africa-time, hearing Die Taal and the SPACE.

I live in Belgium and I've been to SA 6 times.
What I like most about SA are the light, the space and of course the people.
About the light: well it's difficult to explain, but compared to Belgium, when the sun shines in SA things are more bright - seems like everything is just more shining.
About the space: SA is much bigger than Belgium. The great spaces one get's in SA really give me a feeling of freedom, of more possibilities. I can image it's hard to understand if you're not living in a place where everything is close to the rest like in Belgium ...
And finally, about the people: nothing better than to "kuier" or "gesel" ... enjoying a castle or brandewyn, a braai with the friendly people of SA

To start nothing beats a brown dog ( boerewors roll ) castle lager, klippies and coke, braaivleis, potjie kos,the Berg and the fresh air (not like here in Asia smells like rooting vegatation and massive polution in every city,) the beaches in Durban, the food, the wine some of the best in the world, the space and open veld, the people of all colours and nationalities, the humour of the different race groupes each one special in their own right, the ability we have of laughing at ourselves, warts and all it's my country and damn proud of it up the Bokke and the Sharks.

Well, I'm from the US, but could I add the outdoor adventures in the Drakensberg, the vast vistas and the small towns of the Karoo, the picturesque Garden Route, Stellenbosh & the wine country, uniquely beautiful Cape Town with its heritage, culture & activities, on to Cape Point, oh, and, yes, the brais.

I miss the easy going lifestyle, with all the houses equipped with swimming pools just chilling and having braiis (as you guys call them), and Spurs steaks. There as also this restaurant in Alberton, Joberg called the Boma, it was a stunning restaurant and they would sing local songs around your table, really great atmosphere!!
What I don't miss though is the roads and the taxis!!! lol......
