It might be a little touristy but get an A-Z and just go to the places you have heard of, especially parks. It might sound odd but have you done a tour of railway stations? There are some really beautiful ones if you like architecture.
Or you could think about your favorite films set in London and visit the locations that were used or go and see Ealing studios and the nice parks and commons around it (this might be a poor suggestion but I'm from Ealing originally so that's what I would like to do!)
If you read a lot of books set in London (Dickens especially) it is fun to find the places mentioned and see how they have changed, you'll be surprised how often you find something that is still the same.
If in doubt go to a tourist information place and get a museum and gallery guide, there are probably loads you haven't been to yet!

My favorite two museums are Victoria and Albert Museum and the natural history Museum. They're very close to each other and are both free. If you like Opera ballet, check out royal Opera House at Covent Garden, the cheapest tickets are less than 10 pounds, sometimes 4 hours before curtain they will go for half-price. I have seen a ballet as cheap as 2.50 pound.

If you're poor, then London should be your last destination. I've been here for a week now and realize how damn expensive everything is, not just in the city, but the whole country... they charge you for every single little thing.
Free? take a walk, and eat at grocery stores.

Sit on the tube all day people watching. You can go all over London for next to nothing just as long as you don't leave the station. Head out to the end of the line and then head back again.
Great fun

Try the Affordable Art Fair (10 quid) in Battersea Park (google for it).
That will entertain you for a good 2 or 3 hours.

Aren't nearly all of the museums free? Try their websites for correct details but you could spend hours in one or even two - and, if the weather is going to be naff like they are forecasting, at least you will be inside.
