Neither of course. People who work hard are generally paid less, develop chronic illnesses, are prone to depression and have very few friends.
People who are lazy, develop symptoms such as aching muscles, 'foggy brain' and fatigue, are prone to depression and have lowered immune systems.
In Western society there is a catch 22 where by, if you work you have money but no time to spend it, if you don't you have time but no money to do anything. You have to strike a balance.

It is important to have both. Working hard builds character & helps you feel productive. You should also be able to enjoy leisure time, to relax & be lazy every once in a while. All work & no play makes Jack a dull boy (& also gives him a heart attack). No work & all play isn't good either though! Sounds good in theory but can actually lead to depression & feelings of worthlessness. Somewhere in between would be good!
Personally though, I love being lazy! I keep wishing I'd win the lottery & not have to work hard ever again!!!

Cultural differences here. Americans feel they need to "work" all day, Europeans like to skive off.
Its' a no brainer, the first thing any intelligent person does is to find the easiest way of doing any particular task. Therefore laziness is the most natural and pleasant state.

probably sciving off....the way our government is today, people get more benefits than the hard working people do...soon i will get a mortgage on a house, when its all paid i will probably be about 90 years old and die soon after. People on benefits are loving it at the moment

As a motto, hard work does not do anything more than being useful to others, as a superior beast of burden.
Being lazy again is just vegetating.
Doing what is needed in the situation, consciously choosing, and again consciously doing is what helps in every way.

Hello Dan,
Good question. As an ultimately lazy person I have to say that I'm at my happiest working hard but i have a yen to sit an do nothing. I think that satisfaction comes from contribution and creativity. xx

Judging by the number of people who come on here to complain that they're bored at work and can someone suggest another site for them to visit, it strikes me that most people are very happy being lazy and skiving. I just wonder what their employers think!

Sometimes its nice to skive and be lazy. I wouldnt want to work that hard to be honest, as long as I can pay my way in life and have certain standards then Im happy with that.

Do something like this - Answers is both lazy AND productive. You can help people with only a few keystrokes - & maybe help make major decisions for those whose questions you answer.
