HA! Let me tell you a story.....
I was lying in bed with my wife. I showed her my pants that were laying on the floor and asked her to put them on. She said, "they're too big". I said, "that's right. I wear the pants in the family".
She then took off her panties and handed them to me. She told me to put them on. I said, "I can't get into them". She said, "that's right. And you're not going to get into them until I wear the pants in the family".
Nuff said.

True inequality can only be found in physical strength.
AND even that is not always the case.
A women can accomplish ANYTHING! A woman does not EVER need the shelter of a husband. And she only needs the shelter of her parents as a child. As for being someones daughter...again equal...a man must be someones son. As for being someones mother. A woman has just as much choice as a man to decide whether or not she wants to parent a child. Just like a man her life has value FAR beyond who her parents are, who she does or does not marry, and any children she might bring into this world.
So I disagree...Women are equal with men.

No more so than any man is equal to any woman. There are men just as dependent on others as women are taught to be in places. Women are as independent and strong, and capable as men. Even a number of "traditional christian" families have matriarchs leading them. Even in very male run governments, you would be surprised to see how many women are running things from behind the scenes simply as wives and secretaries. Strength can be a very subjective idea. Strength in body is easy to measure, but strength of spirit and will are harder to prove until the need is there. When compared, no two people will ever be perfectly equal not even twins.

The fact is that no two people anywhere are "equal". And frankly, that is not what "equality" as a political ideal is about.
See, I am bigger than Bob, and poorer than Mary, and smarter than Dave, and slower than Sheryl ... get it? We are all individuals and therefore intrinsically not "equal."
What the concept of political and social "equality" means is not identical performance/results, it means equal opportunity ... an equal CHANCE to succeed or fail or just muddle through. Equality means that there will be no barriers facing me that don't face you and her and him. Of course, it is a polite fiction, because while there may be no OFFICIAL barriers, there are lots and lots of hurdles for me to leap in life. There are social, economic, racial, physical and ethical barriers that make me what I am today.
We've all got them. Your lesbian eutopia is one possibility, certainly (if "start from someone's daughter and end with someone's mother" means what it appears), but it is perhaps no more, and probably less, likely than the current status quo, until other factors are adjusted.
See, as I said, we are the product of our barriers. Like a lake, we take the shape of the limitations that we face. If those limitations can be changed (say science invents a pill to make one group of people 400% smarter, as an instance), then the shape of the barriers for them (and for the rest of us) will change, as well.
We can overcome some barriers, and like a lake, burst past our limitations sometimes. Focused effort, or new conditions, or finding a crack in the wall ... any of these can lead to new opportunity.
But that will not change for ladies in developing nations until the barriers change.

IMHO, women will never be equal until they begin to see themselves as equal. In all actuality, women can be independant and be just as successful, if not more so, than a man.
The only time I can percieve of women being only a daughter then a mother would be in countries where there is prohibitive legislation (Iran) or places where women are harmed or killed for seeking these kinds of rights (Taliban-ruled Afghanistan and Iraq).
I am the son of a strong woman as well as the grandson of another strong woman. And I know they both would take offense to your statement.

That is so wrong, on so many levels.
Being a mother is not the end of a woman's life, it's just a big part of it. You could say the same thing about men, they are born as some woman's son and die as some woman's father???
I'm independent, and I'd never let anyone exploit me.
I work in a technical, male-oriented environment and pull my weight just fine. I'm a valued member of the team.
You have no idea what you're taking about, and I'm a walking, breathing example. Come out of your tight cultural shell, and you might learn something new.

Here's a fact, until the Roman Church came along and screwed everything up in this world, society was mostly Matriarchal. It's only been since the Romans got involved that women have been pushed to the background, and I think that society has suffered for it. Blame it on the two biggest women-haters in history, a couple of dim bulbs named Simon (called St. Peter) and Saul of Tarsus (St. Paul).

well, if I understood your words, the same can be said for males, as they are someones son and someones father. There are many examples in ancient history of a woman as a ruler.
Let's take ancient Egypt. Before the Pyramids were even thought of, a woman sat on the throne, as regent for her son. She still made the decisions until he came of age. And I find it interesting that the line of the throne in ancient Egypt passed through the line of the female and not the male. The male may have been Pharaoh, but it was from his wife that he did so. this is why the eldest Brother was often married to his eldest sister.
And then in the 18th dynasty, there was the Pharaoh Hatshepsut, who was female and preferred to be seen as a male in statues and drawings. Even dressed as a male for court purposes. Interesting, no?
Perhaps today Ladies should take a lesson here

Men are woman are equal in many area but not in all area. We and not created to be equal but we were meant to be interdependent on each other in order that we can compliment each other and add to each other lives. And it not ment for us to put each other down......... which happen all to often. God did not make mistakes in our creation and God also gave us purpose. Together we can create life and that was a great gift freely given to mankind until mankind started abusing this gift for selfish reasons. And because of the selfishness of mankind we have even lost the meaning of life...........

Women can do what they want but not in the military or police. A woman can't just put on a bullet-proof vest and go out on the beat with a gun while nine-months pregnant, let alone serve on the front line in peacekeeping.

if a woman has a low self esteme or view of herself, regardless of where on this spec of stellar dust you live on , then she shall never be equal and shall never be un-exploited.
if a woman has a high self esteme and view of herself, she will not allow anyone (male or female) to use or exploit her, she shall always aspire to a higher spiritual and personal self awareness and being. to be the best possible person (terran) that she can be.
it all depends on , how she was raised, in which demension, from what stellar spec of dust, and what her personal view of herself is, and by whatever means of point of view or comparison she or you use.
in the universe all creatures are created (formed / cloned ) equally. what they do after that is up to them , caused by free will within the cosmic choices given in their karma.
but in the long run you puny terrans and your insignificant problems, and greed and pettines, shall destroy you all, by your own devices, and us marinians shall move in and take over a nice little place for an amusement park. lmao !, cmdr. tangalva arivula batliva of the marinian star fleet.
