I've seen Brass Knuckles at Flea Markets and such... but i'm not certain about their legality.

From what I've heard, there is a difference between owning one in your home, and being allowed to carry one outside your home.

Does anybody know where to find out for a particular State (In my case Oregon) the legality of Brass Knuckles? Wether to posess or carry?

What about the ambiguity sorrounding Knuckles as Belt Buckles or Paperweights? I've heard that they can be legal if they carry that "purpose"

ORS 166 and the other pieces of legislature I've read only restrict having them in public places, government facilities as well as carrying them on your person. Or if your a felon/inmate or have a criminal record.

What I wanted to know is it illegal to just HAVE them in your home? (or is there any definitive piece of material out there that verifies that?)

They are illegal in Oregon to possess. It'll get you 1 year and 5K fine. It's called possession of a dangerous weapon. I think it's under ORS166 series.

166.240 Carrying of concealed weapons. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, any person who carries concealed upon the person any knife having a blade that projects or swings into position by force of a spring or by centrifugal force, any dirk, dagger, ice pick, slungshot, metal knuckles, or any similar instrument by the use of which injury could be inflicted upon the person or property of any other person, commits a Class B misdemeanor.

Not illegal to possess, just to carry concealed.
