no it doesnt look red. I have seen around 50 of them in one day once. around 7 years ago there was meteor shower or something which was quite visible from few parts in India. That night was the most heavnly night i have ever seen. It was beautiful with lots of shooting stars. They are white- yelowish streak and they look awesome. oh yeah it was called the leonid meteor shower. Apparently there is one happening this Nov 18th and can be viewed best from east coast of North America

Yes, I have. I also saw a meteor shower about 13 years ago in AL. We put a blanket out and lay there, counting falling stars until we stopped counting. I got up to 60+ before I just quit counting and watched the show. They were lots of colors, white, yellow, and kind of red mostly.
