They can easily live for 2 weeks or more without supplemental feed :)

they sell them at the store i work at and the department manager left a note for the person that was working the pet department on her 2 days off not to feed the Betta's i asked her why she said because they live in such small confined areas and don' move around much they don't need to be feed much . that if you over feed them it contaminates the water they only need to be feed every three to four days and very little so they more then likely live along time with out food at least a week if not more.

Betta's live up for more than two weeks or even months, that depends on where you have kept your betta.

They are interesting fish. I have heard that they were originally shipped to America in wet towels without food. I don't know if that is true but they are still cool fighting fish.

i jus go by the instructions on the fish food for my betta and it states that you should feed sparingly twice a day,6-8 pellets per serving and if used properly it should not cloud the water.it's called betta pellet food.
