I think the purpose of life is so similar for all yet all with a different purpose to each.
To me, the purpose is to live, learn, believe, follow and share, and I am doing that now. What your purpose is only you can discover, whether you already know, still seeking or ever will find, I doubt anybody could actually answer that for you other than God himself.
God Bless You xxx

God is not a person, but a cosmic force behind all organic life that Moses discovered. Moses wrote the creation story and much of the first part of the Bible personifying God because it was a way for us to understand the invisible forces of life energy long before science. The purpose of man is ultimately to become the physical manifestation of God is a way we can understand (Which has not happened yet, but even the ancient prophets could understand this is what would ultimately come to be). In the mean time, man is just the touchstone between the invisible forces of the universe that make things live and the future of what "God" will do next.

Then all was complete and accomplished. The great artisan did not leave a flaw in His creation. Galaxies, the stars, planets and all things in between things were in complete compliance and obedience with the order of the creation - a world so perfect, so complete that Imperfection was unknown. Unknown was then this realisation - the knowledge was not complete. The perfection in the masterpiece was the flaw in itself. So God created human being with a heart to constantly gaze upon perfection even when broken, shattered and imperfect; to search for that virtuoso incognito upon the hearing of sweet and sad notes of His symphony in ordinary human existence always far from being complete; in a dream.

The reason can't be within God's creation. That would create a vicious loop, a contradiction. The reason has to be outside God's purveyance. But God is supposed to be over all. This contradiction shows that such a God does not exist.
We just happened. And since non-sentient entities such as rocks and nebulae can't experience things, and there are beings that can experience things (like us humans), we necessarily have to be among those beings.
We are. We find our own purpose. Make the most of it while you can.

Man made god, not the other way round. Our purpose in life is to survive. Just because this is no longer the hardship it was and we have more recreational time for Philsophical discussions, doesn't mean that we aren't just like like all the other animals that inhabit the planet whose role is to prolong our exsistence. An article in the New Scientist suggested that if all mankind died, it would take just 200,000 years before ALL traces would completely disappear. This is a blink of the eye as far as the history of the world/universe is concerned and puts our exsistence into proper context.

:to give: , after [which] is now] you have received life [it being a gift] it's your turn to give back; so-to-speak..using 'after and now' used as tools.time is a mental construction.noted that many of the other answers, here denied GOD.some referencing evolution?or perhaps just science.?maybe self created.?what do 'i' know they could be right.love believes all things ;as quoted from the Holy Bible.I'm open: that such a love exists IE. That the Jesus story contains at least a reflection of 'truth'.truth could be summed up in ":give:".REF: the Jesus example[Ohh'boy, ooh' how +ooh' what he gave].as far as evolution, if you follow the science, the theory is unsubstantiated.as far as self created. I'm OK with that;as long as there is consideration [explanation] given to answering what is the origin of everything and everyone else??..

A different answer to what?
Your question presupposed that god did create us. If you accept that, all the evidence suggests he put us here to suffer, for his entertainment.
God did not create us, we created god. There is no 'purpose' to our life, other than the perpetuation of our genes, save that we choose to inject into it. So you can create your own purpose, which is quite cool, when you think about it. Preferable to being the playthings of an invisible bully in the sky.

When you are in sleep and you dream you experience many things, which you at that time , believe it to be true. Only when you wake up you find that it was , afterall, a dream. But so long as you were in the dream you believed it to be totally true.
What you are , now , experiencing is also a dream. You think it is happening and it is real. But it is just a dream. In this dream you are imagining a father figure , a provider, a powerful one in your image.
When you wake up you will realise you created God in your dream.
