Noah's ark
i would guess being wood it was quite useful for timber to build new houses, so was quickly dismantled
there is a huge amount of symbolism - was it a flood or earthquake etc., was the arc real or a symbol of sin, salvation ... the mount that it came to rest upon may be another symbol ...
or is the story much older and pinched from earlier myths of catastrophe and rebirth ...

Why don't people proof read their questions? No, Noak never built a boat, so it was neither lost nor found. Now had you have taken the time to even do a spell check, perhaps Noak" would now be Noah!

There was a story out a couple of years back about a rather large boat being found in Turkey, I think. The remains were found by archaeologists near the peak of a mountain, and consisted mainly of steel pegs & rotted wooden beams, which, when 'viewed' from above, resembled a craft not dis-simular to the Ark described in the Bible.

not for sure. they keep saying they know where it is, but they never have proved anything. that is one of the mysteries & wonders of the Bible. think about it, if they found noah's ark, wouldn't that make Christianity much more believable to most people. then, it wouldn't be all about faith as it is today with the Bible being much of the only proof of Christianity's existence. (watch, now they will find it...)
