If you click on and look at the emails you have sent they will cease to be highlighted...it's just like opening mail in your inbox.

Message that is drafted and not sent landed in Drafts box.
Message sent and on the way to receiver should be in Outbox.
Message sent and reached receiver is in Sent box. The email is highlighted because it is still unread by the sender. ?? Hope I am right ??

If you went in and had a look at what you sent maybe that ia why it is no longer highlighted.
