I loved the old Don with Amitabh Bachchan. I also love action films. However, the final fight scene for this film made me laugh. I just sat on the floor in front of the TV and laughed and laughed. It was really very silly. It didn't diminish the film because that was the tone set by the entire film. Vijay is a good natured character and that continues to be felt even after he's taken Don's place. The new don is much less of a comedy than the first one. That final fight scene is really very funny with the circus performer, the street performer and the Judo expert. Every second or so someone is jumping up and over the heads of everyone else to get out of their fight with four or five guys. Excellent film. It did, however, need updating.

No. I thought Shah Rukh Khan was the hero. Amitabh Bachan may have been the hero of the older "Don" movie (circa 1970s)

Yes, go ahead and certainly see the old Don with Amitabh Bachchan, it is much better than the remake. I have reviewed the new movie in another question in this category. You can check it if you are interested.

THE BETTER CHOICE IS THE CHANNEL "SET MAX", IT KEEPS REPEATING THE FILM DON EVERY WEEK, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE CHANNEL THEN YOU HAVE TO BUY THE VIDEO CASSETTE OF THIS FILM, YOU WILL NEVER FIND A DVD OF THIS OLD FILM.
