It's all in your mind - after your vasectomy, you probably feel a
bit let-down, because you've lost your manhood (no more sperms
to ejaculate - like an eunuch). But your sex drive is still there,
that is, if you want it, you can get sexually aroused.
However, people who went for vasectomy, will usually put on
some weight, but you can reduce it by regular exercise.
Since you're young at 20 years and having one child, I don't
think it's a good decision to go for vasectomy.
If it's family planning of not getting any more children, then
always use the condom when you're having sex. It's very safe
and the easiest way out of a problem.

I am 31 and was on it two times in my sexual life for 6 months and COULDN't STAND IT! You get bloated, gain weight, get moody. I lost all my sex drive. It was funny I was taking the pill so I don't get pregnant but we were hardly if ever having sex. LOL! What's the point of taking it. I have been with him since 17, married to him at 22 and have two kids. I tried other things like the IUD, and got it taken out after 7 months. CANNOT DO HORMONES for the REST of MY LIFE! We are doing having babies. So hubby got a vasectomy. Is that an option for you instead.... or you young with a boyfriend. Try Yasmin ... I heard great things about it.

No way , i had a vasectomy over 8 years ago and the effects have been all positive , my sex drive was totally unaffected and my wife's increased dramatically knowing she didn't have to take the pill and she still wouldn't get pregnant ! as for the weight issue , you would only put on weight if you eat more and exercise less !

No, you won't gain lots of weight unless you eat too much! And you won't lose your sex drive!
But I think you are too young to make this decision. You may change your mind in the next few years about having more children, and it is very hard to reverse the procedure and have it be successful. Think it over very carefully.

No and No! It has absolutely no bad side effects. The only side effects are positive, releasing you from the possibilty of fathering more kids you don't want. Well done for taking such a responsible stance.

people I knew seemed to have more sex drive, maybe due to the lack of worry, and no weight has nothing to do with sex except for weight loss due to increase energy spending.

My dad had it done and he didn't get fat, as far as sex drive, your testicles don't provide the hormones for that. Have you consulted an urologist?

NO side effects... good friend of mine had one and nothing changes, you still ejaculate and everything like normal.. you still have your testosterone in your system also.. you just dont ejaculate sperm..
Just talk with your doc about your concerns and I'm sure he will be more than happy to talk to you.
