I agree, as long as it bring in cold air, it doesn't matter much what it looks like.
I've had to by 2 and the second was a little better looking than the first, but it was cheap, so I bought it sight unseen.

No. Not because looks matter, but if I'm paying money I want the best value for my money. A new one will come with a warranty, and be more efficient I don't know how long a used one will last, and it costs money to dispose of them.
