I would like to hear from women who have had gestational diabetesor know about it, what symptoms did you have...weight gain, dizzyness, thirst. etc etc?. Im 22 weeks pregnant and measuring 31 weeks at my 18 week appointment and ultrasound all was normal in size. In 4 weeks I have got huge and i feel 30 weeks pregnant too. (I am deffinatley 22 weeks too I have had 4 ultrasounds over the 1first 9 weeks all say same dates) My doctor has got me to do the glucose tollerence test early to see if its diabetes that has made my uterus grow so much. Waiting on results! (4th pregnancy no previous pregnany problems)

I will be 38 weeks on tuesday. I was diagnoised with gd a couple of months ago. My sugar test was 243 which was extemely high. I didn't have any symptoms while pregant, except excessive thirst. I thouht nothing about this because i was always thirsty before i got pregnant. My doc put me on a diet and had me check my blood sugar 4 times a day. Unfortuantly that did not work. I know have to take insulin 2x a day. My dosage was just increased on wed because my sugar started to act up. At 37 and a half weeks my baby already weighs 7 pounds 9 ounces. I have to go to the doc 2x a week for a non stress test. Since monday, my blood pressure and sugar have been extrememly high. There has been so many things that have happened since i was 5 months, that i just want this pregancy to be over. Since my doc said that the baby is at a safe weight, I am going to asked to be induced when i go to the doctors office this morning. This is my first pregnacy, so this is all i can really say. Good luck

I know that women tend to show sooner and look bigger after the 2nd pregnancy, but that does sound excessive. Has your doctor checked the baby's kidneys and your fluid levels to make sure that is not the problem? If the baby is the size it should be it might not be diabetes, but it may indicate a problem of some kind that needs to be checked out. I hope all is well. Keep us posted.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.
I read this interesting book https://tr.im/eFSrq that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.
I hope it helps

got it when I was 8 months pregnant. The doc refered me to a dietitian and she worked out a diet for me. My breakfast is only consist of 1/2 piece of bread, a glass of milk and a small banana. I gotta control my intake of carbo n sweet stuff. I can't take coffee and carbonated drinks. After every meal, i gotta take blood to test for glucose level and record down what i ate after every meal. If i can't control my diet well and continue to put on then i gotta take insulin jab to prevent a miscarriage. This is real tough!
