I don't think you can beat a lie detector test. I did hear that taking a Valium Will relax you but iam not sure. You best bet is tell the truth.

you have to make sure that your heart-beat is normal you must be calm do not show any signs of that u are scared keep it cool when they ask you a question be sure of it don't doubt (even if you are liying) don't feel pressured stay cool all the time

They ask you control questions and they compare your responses to the control questions. They know the answers(or make a good assumption) to the control questions. If you change your breathing or bite your tongue during the control question you will make it hard for them to compare it. It's all about controlling your physical responses.
