I believe in it when said with sincerity. Sorry can go along way to mending broken relationships. But, I agree, empty sorrys are insulting. I have been trying to instill that idea into my kids. They'll do something they know they aren't supposed to do and then say "sorry". I always tell them, "I don't want to hear sorry if you don't mean it." We've had long talks about the importance of only saying it if you mean it.

no I don't most people just say it as an automated response and think that everything is going to be fine. I believe in actions, facts not words

Nope. I found out that my husband was cheating on me and all he said was that he was sorry, but it didn't stop him. We got divorced soon after.
