i once was standing on a bus, and a girl was sitting on a platformed seat next to me, and she was quite tall to begin with. accidentally i knocked her on the head with my elbows and she went ouch. i apologised immediately. wat was she thinking at that time?

Ok, this is what gets me.
We hear all the time about how women supposedly have a higher threshold for pain than men because of childbirth, etc.
But then you have a situation like this bus. If it were a guy that got bumped in the head from an elbow by a woman he would be like "hey, no problem". But if a guy gets jostled around while riding the bus and accidentally bumps his elbow to her head, suddenly her head is THROBBING with pain. Oh no, how can she go on. It must be so difficult for someone that can withstand the pain of childbirth to actually survive an elbow-bump on the bus.
High tolerance for pain. Right.

Accidents like that happen in busses all the time.
If it were me, I might have said 'ouch' because it probably smarted, but once the apology was made, i would have said , 'it's ok, it wasn't your fault". then I would be fine.

She probably wasn't too thrilled about it (and may have temporarily thought, "You, idiot" - particularly if she was hurt); but then she probably just knew it was an accident and didn't think much more about it.
