i definately think America as a whole acts like a drama queen. our governement, media & citizens themselves all blow everything out of proportion, acting as if every minute detail is a major deal.
for example (RANDOM, from the top of my head):
-an individual gets upset because their child plays tag at school and gets picked on, so the school bans tag... which will eventually lead to a country-wide ban of tag... ?!?!?!
WHY THE DRAMA????
the child is going to be picked on anyhow, so why should tag be banned. as if any other sport isn't aggressive. one situation may occur that may be inappropriate, so the issue is just banned & avoided so that this one in a billion situation isn't repeated. like it is that serious anyhow. in other countries, such nonsense isn't an issue.... is it?

oh hell yeah, no question about it. I didn't even have to think about that one. Even after 9/11, a week after, newstations began showing the images of 9/11 in a slideshow accompanied by dramatic, melancholy music, almost as if it were some movie. Even some newscasters made it into a soap opera type thing.
Its a strangely worded question, but I know what you are getting at. The reasons are
1. Americans as a whole are becoming more immature. There are guys in their 60s that still wear ponytails, people in their 30s and 40s playing video games, watching silly cartoons like the Simpsons and South Park. And more mentally immature people tend to be more dramatic, as kids in high school usually are, making a big deal about whose doing what, did you see what she did, etc.
2. The feminization of America. Several generations have now up with prosperity and never had to fight in a war, except for the relatively small numbers in Vietnam and Iraq, but most have not, and growing up in suburban comfort, men have become more effeminate, and women tend to be more dramatic than men as a general rule, regardless of the times. Also more gays are making their way into Hollywood, and the press in general, and gays tend to be more gossipy and immature than straight people, and thus make big deals out of nothing often.
3. Our attention span is decreasing, we are becoming an ADD nation who can't sit still until the next thing comes around to amuse us. And those with short attention spans require drama in their lives, and if it doesn't come, they will make it up!, and therefore such persons will be more receptive to these distractions the news creates for us, like Elian Gonzales, and OJ, the McCartney divorce, Lindays car troubles, Britneys baby troubles. The really important events that are going to affect us in this world actually require a bit of understanding, and for that you have to sit still for a minute and be willing to learn about a little of the backround.

Yes difinitely.
America takes itself so seriously that it funny. As an Australian we absorb the american culture, we feel a bit like Nicole Ritchie as a country whilst the U.S of A is Paris. Still better than Canada who would probably be Opra.

No, FDR develop into the 1st. we are in a position to in ordinary terms desire Obamna may be the final, as quickly as we finally study our lesson and positioned across the era of Joe Kennedy to its very final end. Joe Kennedy develop right into a infamous Prohibition era gangster and a profession criminal who accrued an endless fortune. He used his ill gotten advantageous properties to take over the Democratic occasion, together with his close companion in crime Franklin D. Roosevelt. formerly Kennedy, the Democratic occasion develop into the occasion of the KKK and Jim Crow regulations. Kennedy and FDR became it into the occasion of crooks who bought votes from those with government giveaway schemes like Social protection. The Kennedy klan ruled the government of the country for 3 quarters of a century, from the 1930's till Ted Kennedy died in 2009. Do college toddlers study that Joe Kennedy switched over the Democratic occasion from the occasion of racist bigots, segregationists, and lynch mobs, into the occasion of gangsters and criminals it somewhat is right this moment?

Yes, America is a drama queen. A prima donna. Power has gone to her head. She is quite full of herself & believes the world revolves around her (well, to some degree it does...) She panics easily. She is selfish, moody & irrational.
Canada, is her more humble & reasonable sister, hiding in the queen's shadow...
(just one Canadian's opinion...) :)
