Does it make any sense? Many Americans bash Islamic culture for their lack of freedom. However, at the same time the leaders of America are taking away all our freedoms. For example, they ban smoking in many places, ban protesting in many places and ban internet gambling. At this rate, in a few years American women will be forced to cover their faces with veils. What is your reasoning for this Islam bashers?

LOL. I'm not trying to insult Islam in any way. I'm Muslim myself. I'm just saying that it's an oxymoron to insult certain values and support them at the same time.

what is wrong with banning smoking and gambling is that these are freedoms that many people enjoy. the examples i gave are not relevant except to show that our freedoms are slowly being taken away, one by one.

The freedoms of the people are being eroded by the state and for what- no terrorists involved in 9/11 have been prosecuted, this has all been too convenient for the administration that has empowered itself in the process and turned the clock back on liberties and freedoms.
The amazing bit is they managed to do this while keeping people convinced they are still free.

Isn't this American bashing. You seem intelligent, so you must realize this is a wee bit hypocritical. I do not bash anyone for their lack of freedom. I do however thank god that I live in the USA and enjoy many freedoms. I can guarantee you that I will not be forced to do anything. Many people do not realize that not all Islamic people are terrorists, and not all terrorists are Islamic. Hence the bashing. That certainly doesn't make it right, but it is a factor. Do not worry about our freedom. We change politicians more often than people change cars. Things get a little uptight once in a while and later they loosen back up again. Peace.

I never saw the connection between the two, but you're right ... they seem really intent on persecuting smokers in particular. It's like a kind of Puritanism and most likely they don't like Islam because the type of person who tells us we're not allowed to smoke or gamble has little tolerance for anyone who does not think and do exactly what they want them to.

Americans are losing their freedoms and rights because of political correctness. Its the squeeky wheel gets the grease mentality.

Every time that a minority or special interest group opens their mouth to complain about something, we lose a freedom or right.

We are too busy trying to appease the likes of Muslems and such while at the expense of our own self worth.

The US is NOT turning into an islamic theocracy-people are trying to turn it into a christian theocracy. The 'health-nazis' are the ones trying to ban smoking and trans fats (yep, that's NY) and the like. That's just another reason I like Nevada. We like keeping our freedoms there.

I hate anybody trying to push for state-sanctioned religion.

y u r so mad??????
calm down
first of all
if the Muslim traditions don't conflict with anything in the christian American community
y u want to piss off Muslims?
they didn't do anything
they just live their life with a specific number of laws and traditions
because they have faith in their religion and their god
America........its the land of freedom
everyone do whatever the hell he wants
so plz if Muslims don't affect Ur life directly
plz think of another reason to express Ur anger feelings
instead of accusing Muslims while they r innocents

government people can't make up their mind on what information is accurate and what information is counter-intellegence, so one day they support X and are against Y. Then a week later they find out they could get something from Y if they say they're against X.

It's a screwy mixed up world. especially politics and media coverage.

The US is not moving that way as fast has the EU.
Banning smoking is not that bad. I think I have the RIGHT to breath smoke free air or can I walk over to you table and fart.
