technically.. it is illegal...
these companies want you to get into the mindset that peer to peer (p2p) or file SHARING sites are not illegal becasue someone actually has to buy it, but since the person who bought it shares it with their friends, who share it with their friends, who share it with THEIR friends... well, you get the point. napster worked under the same principle... where is he now? charging you for music. some individuals have actually been slapped with lawsuits for this stuff.. copyright laws will kick your butt over it, and if you're not careful, you'll end up paying for most of your favorite stars loyalties.

is the line adequately drawn in these cases? not really. your best bet for now is, until someone writes a law for this stuff, lay off excessive downloads from limewire, imesh, or whatever else is popular now. they dont target ANYONE who is downloading, but the person who does it the MOST.

sad world, isnt it?

The program itself is not illegal because it was meant to be used to share files such as personal photos and papers. But it is illegal to download movies, music, programs, and pictures that were not legally purchased.

Hi, as far as my local newspaper reported, it is not legal and I m located in Singapore. Software like limewire is for pple to shares files, pictures etc but not for sharing copyright musical/video files! Hence, not legal....in singapore.

I'm not sure if it is, if it were illegal then the should have stopped it from being downloaded. But file sharing is illegal. So confusing.
