Ouija boards are more likely to work on Samhain (31st October) when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest.
Spirits use the collective energy of the people using the ouija in order to move the planchette.
It is important that the ouija isn't used as a toy and is definitely not to be used on your own. You must cleanse the surrounding area before using the ouija (to rid the area of negative energy) and make a circle of protection in the area you are using the ouija in (salt is a good medium for this purpose)
I have used the ouija many times with varying degrees of success.

Sometimes there may not be a scientific explanation.
Sometimes things are just the way they are and they can't be proven.
However, as much as I would have liked for something to happen one day when I decided to "play" with the ouija board...nothing did.
I just sat on my butt holding a plastic thingie beneath my fingers like an idiot for a good 15 or so minutes.
Meanwhile, I've got no problem picking up EVP's...
Go figure.

ouija is a concept tat you conjure spirits to answer questions for you. the way it works, the planchette is placed on the baord...two or more place their hands in the planchette....raw energy makes it move, not spirits
