The best way is to cut down your food intake, exerscise regularly and reduce your salt intake too. Eat more fruits and vegetables and less food and if you do these religiously, your blood pressure will sure go down for good.

You must be going through a difficult time right now and my heart goes out to you. Don't be too hard on yourself. You are doing the right thing by asking for help. Make sure you keep your appointment with the doctor. Your doctor will be able to figure out the reason for your being overweight. It could be due to any number of health problems, such as hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid). Your doctor will be able to get you an appointment with a dietitian. A dietition can talk to you about what foods to eat, how often you should be eating, how many calories, carbohydrates, and fat grams you should have each day, and help you come up with some type of weight loss plan. Just make sure you stick with it, no matter how hard it is. They will also let you know what a healthy weight is for someone your age and your height. You also need to make sure you exercise often and get plenty of sleep and fluids. Drink a lot of water (64 ounces a day is recommended). Your doctor and dietitian can also tell you what types of exercises would be good for you and how often you should be doing them. Sometimes just walking is great! Being overweight can lead to a lot of health problems in the future such as diabetes, heart disease, and as you already know, high blood pressure. By getting your diet under control, you should notice a decrease in your blood pressure, and you can work on preventing future complications or health problems. I don't know how the other students in your school are, but some can be very cruel. If they get on you about your weight, don't let it get to you. If others are hard on you because of it and it really stresses you out, you might benefit from talking with your school counselor or other therapist, or even join a support group. Good luck to you! I hope my answer helps you out. Just see what your doctor says and what advice he gives you, then stick with it. You can do it!!!

You know most of the answer: lose weight, exercise. Also, cut down on salt intake. This is the hardest thing to do, and may not even help a lot, but in some people it can make a big difference. In order to cut down on salt, avoid processed and canned foods, especially soups and stews. Avoid cured meats such as salami, bologna etc. What is difficult is that things that don't taste salty may have the highest sodium content. Look at the labels. Surprisingly, salty things like pretzels and potato chips are not that bad (but should be limited), while pickles have lots of sodium. Also, recent research suggests that getting sufficient sleep is important also. Change your lifestyle and check your blood pressure after 3 to 6 months. If it has come down, you may be able to avoid medications.

OK so lets put it this way if you want to loose weight you have to eat every two hours but not a hole meal a snack the size of your fist you also need to drink a tall glass of water every half hour. Don't take pills because yes you'll loose the weight but as soon as you stop them you will put on the double.

pills most of the time are not the answer and thats why the doctor told you so,,, the way most diet pills and suppliments work ,,, is that they fool your body into feeling its full which causes you to undereat, which in turn makes your metabolism slow and actually gain weight,, also it tells you to drink plenty of water,, that cuz these also dehydrate your body by making it release necessary water stored in the body,, diet and exercise all the way ,, no quick gimmicky substitutes,,,,

Don't cut down on meals, but monitor the type of meals you eat. Oatmeal is good for you....and stay away from fried foods. Try fish, chicken and turkey.
