My boyfriends ex has been dragging the divorce on. She comes up with the dumbest excusses too. Their marriage was already in the dumps when he left her. he told her he was leaving her for me. She went out and got herself a boyfriend too. They live together Both dont work (by choice) and she is on welfare. They have two kids that she has custody of. My boyfriend has already givin her his 401K and even though the divorce still isn't final he has paid child support the entire time. He gave her everything. she even put a retraining order on him to collect $1200. He paid that. restraining order is over in Dec. She has signed the papers she just wont take the parenting class now. Can you think of a reason she wont finalize this divorce? Is there something she has up her sleeve that we cant figure out, like the restraining order, can she file it again and get money again if they are still married, and that is why she is waiting? that is the only thing I can think of. Any Ideas?

She's obviously being vindictive and if u were seeing her husband before he left her, then she has more reason to be. She doesn't want him but doesn't want anyone else to have him either.

She probably knows that you and your boyfriend will get married once the divorce is over and that's why she wants to drag it on. She's jealous and evil. I had a friend that went through a similar situation, the ex never got another boyfriend but secretly I think she was "hoping" that somehow my friend's boyfriend would come back to her especially if she used the kids against him. It was a long drawn out process lasting almost 4 years. The ex's lawyer was a complete moron, so that dragged things on as well. I spent countless endless nights consoling my friend who thought it would never end.
Keep your head up, the case will eventually end. Then get married and shove it in her ugly face. I'm rootin' for ya! Good Luck! ;-)

My best honest question....why are you with him?
Seems too much drama that will not go away once divorce is finalized. Pretty much this is the foundation. He left her for you. Which means, he was committing adultry. Same can happen to you when things get sour....
Anyhow, she might be lazy about it or holding it showing she "has the power".
Yet, he can file against her for holding processing and refusal. Usually she has 30 days (California) to sign and turn the papers in or it will automatically be pushed into once the filing spouse notifies about it.
No one gives restraining orders for nothing. Unless the police department is completly bored and uneducated.

Yes I do...but I have a question first. What are you doing! I mean forget the about her and her reasons for prolonging the divorce, do you really want to be the woman a married man left his wife for! Do you know what you are going to end up dealing with. Without even going into the insecurity of being at home and he's out wondering if he's cheating on you like he cheated on his wife when he was with you, but what about the lack of self respect for not having the ability to attract a man with more moral fiber. Damn what his wife is doing and Damn how much money he's putting out for HIS WIFE and children. Seems to mean somebody is in need of a reality check. Sounds like your in this for the money...you haven't mention how much you love him or he loves you. Really don't think you thought this through dear.

Gee its sounds like my ex. She is very vindictive that she told me that the longer she fights the longer she stays married. I think its a real sickness but she refuses to go get any help. Document everything just don't fall for the games take the higher road. Good luck

Just to mess with you guys. I'm sure she's royally pissed at both of you and this is a way to get back at you. And by the way she has a right to be mad afterall her husband is a cheat and you're a homewrecker.....next time find a single guy and stay out of other people's marriages!
