When China begins to demand access to the non-renewable resources of the nations that the west exploits so as to feed their awaking industrial needs, is what people should be concerned about. China is still a brutal totalitarian dictatorship. The Tienanmen Square massacre was not that long ago. We are giving them the factories, skills, and jobs we will need to defend ourselves, not to mention the trade deficit with them. Don't worry, China's real intentions are still 2-3 years away from reality.

I think the chinese would play like the Swiss in WWII. They don't like how Kim, Jong Il tends to not listen most of the time (apparently Kim expressed regret over the missle and nuke-tests this morning-totally out of character) and tends to try and make a tense situation worse. Then again, they don't want the refugees (I don't really understand that-they say it would be an economic burden, but they have been the biggest providers of aid to North Korea's starving masses-they could stop sending aid to North Korea and divert the money towards aiding the refugees, i.e. they would have more control over how the money and food is distributed and used).
I think China would try to stay out of the whole mess-they wouldn't feel good about helping or hurting either side.
Of course, we (the US and ROK militaries) would be ready for him this time. All Kim really has is his artillery and Army to invade the ROK with. His missles are more for long range and his nuclear capabilities are 50+ years behind the US (not to mention the radiation cloud that would blow back up to North Korea-suicide). Kim is an a$$#@!@, but he's not stupid.

That is a very real possibility. Iran and Syria already are such allies. N. Korea has no problems in sharing their military technology with other bad guys like Iran.
China might. Although it is a much different China now. It is a very touchy situation that I doubt the US would ever do without the approval of China.

asia is a whole different ballgame imo ...eventually it will come down to the western powers against asia whatever that may be at the time .. i very seriously doubt the US would risk war with china at this point in time and i also very seriously doubt north korea will do anything extremely stupid ... they already got noticed an i would say now they will build stronger ties with other asian countries for awhile... maybe an asian union of some sort will form ... north korea will still be around for a long time and is intimately related to china ... but syria and iran will be overrun by nato in the near future...

Syria and N Korea are child's play, they will get knocked out pretty quick. Russia will be a problem but they lack the technology we have so yes we can beat them altogether.

The answer is obvious, I am sure that the leaders of those nations have already been in contact with one another.
The U.S. has an outstanding trade relationship with China, I believe they would either "handle" N. Korea themselves, or sit this one out.
basically WW3

Simple economics, China makes a lot more money off of Americans than it does off of Koreans. If it really hit the fan, China would begrudgingly be on our side.
