I would have tried to help. It's a matter of honor to me. If I stand by and do nothing about evil acts. Then I am guilty as well. I'll pray for that man's family.

My Mum & I were actually talking about this the other day hehe.
I think I'd have to assess the situation - is the person savable within my capabilities? If yes then for sure - provided the risk to myself was worth it, no use trying to save someone in a really dangerous situation if you're both going to die.
In this specific case I would have called the cops & told them what bus I was on. I would have spoken to the driver & then would have said something to the guys. That's if I was on my own with it - if other people stepped in it'd be easier. My partner told a bunch of teenagers to keep their disgusting mouths shut around the older people on the tram (they were talking about raping their sisters in awful ways I'm not going to go into here). One of the guys lunged at him with a screwdriver which my partner took off him & wedged his head between the seat & the wall. The guy actually peed his pants & the others ran away at the next stop. My partner let the guy up, made him apologise to all and sundry & let him go with baggy trousers.

I live in Edmonton too, I was amazed that no one stepped in to help, I would have tried to get the rest of the riders together in a group and at least attempt something, and I later heard that the driver did not even stop the bus! this city is getting a little to wild.

This is a tricky question, i must say.
A lot of times every depends on my reaction.. how quickly I absorb whatever is going on. And seeing someone gets beaten up and simply going to his rescue is not an easy combination.
Unless I do know kungfu or karate and are confident that I can take those boys out.. I surely would help..
If it is one guy beating another, I would help..coz it is one vs one.
If the one needing help is a kid .. then I would help.. coz I cannot stand seeing kids being trashed.
In other cases apart from violent actions, for e.g someone being in danger of road accident.. I would help.

think human nature kicks in when someone is in trouble. If it was one boy who was beating this man, that would be one thing, but a group of them, your out numbered, unless there was a group of men there. Very disturbing they beat him to death....sick.

That is sad!
no one lifted a finger to help!?
My answer is yes!
I most definately would have come to his aid.
even if no one helped me and I got hurt...they would have known they had been in a fight!
I hope these youths were caught and sent to prison!

you better believe it! sometimes you do things because they are right that looking back you would never have done if you were thinking it through.
