In the majors there are 30 teams, each with a 25 man roster. Each team has a AAA, 2 AA, and at least 3 A minor league teams, also with 25 man rosters. There is a varsity baseball team at virtually every college and university. There are probably about 2,000 of them. Again, almost all high schools have a baseball team; probably 30,000 of them. Then there is Ripken/Ruth leagues for middle school aged kids, nearly every park and playground has little league. Millions. All imagining that he is one of 750 major leaguers. Great fun. Too many if you ask me....my house is empty during the season and when they are home, baseball is on. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a hater, as a matter of fact I played when i was in school as well. It's just some people are obsessed with it. Oh well, guess they could be obsessed with other things that are worse.
