I had an c-section and I tell you my area where they cut still itches like a sore sometimes and yes it is tender. Raising your arms and some activicies can still feel sore or stretched. -o- I had my c-section like about 2 1/2 years ago.

I had a c-section 10 1/2 months ago.
I had a bit of trouble with mine healing. It was still splitting open a tiny bit at the left side at my 6-week follow-up appointment. I think the doctor stitched a hair in there. Every now and again I get like an ingrown hair on the scar that puffs all up like a pimple. (Yuck!!) Another c-section delivery mommy I know told me that the same thing still happens to her 32 years later.
In my case I'm finally not noticing the incision site (except when the baby kicks it at diaper changes.) It's also getting less numb now.
My doctor told me that what it looks like at 1-year is what it will look like forever.
Take care

My son just turned four months today. I must be pretty lucky tho' with my c-section. I was up and about without any real issues the next morning and completely off meds within two days... not even Tylenol! I do have an occasional burning, nerve type pain where my scar is but it's pretty mild.
I did use vitamin E on my scar which may have been what provided me with some relief. I break open the capsules and rub it into the scar so as to soften up the scar tissue.

i to had a c section almost 5 months ago . my second to be exact. it will be sensitive for quite sometime. i agree you may want the Dr to make sure it isn't infected. you can also check yourself by looking at the scar
if you see any red spots on or around the scar call the Dr if it is followed by pain. if not just clean the area with soap and water and pat thoroughly dry. never leave the area moist. Just wait though the weird part is the numbness in the area for up to a year if not longer ..... lol experiences

It can take a few more months before some of the sensitivity of it goes away. It takes almost a year to completely heal and have enough scar tissue. I had hip surgery and after, it took 3 years before the scar stopped bothering me. It is hard to say how long it will take to heal. Everyone is different.

I had my c-section, will be 2 yrs ago come January & mine is still sensitive. It is also numb. From what I've been told by other people that have also had c-sections it doesn't get better. It'll stay that way(coming from my sis who had 2 c-sections, last 1 was 7 yrs ago).

Had a c-sec 7 mos ago and it's still really tender and can get REALLY itchy at times. Doc said to put hydrocortisone on it, but that didn't help. keeping it dry and uncovered (open aired) seems to work best for me. I think the most difficult part of having a C-sec was the fact that it has been so hard for me to lose my tummy!! Does anyone else have this problem???

Mine too, my son just turned four months today. im thinking its normal becuase I asked my doctor about it about a month ago shen i went in for a pap. I also have some tenderness in my lower abdomen at times. He laughed at me and said well it take 6months to a year for everything to be completely healed. have you had someone look at it and make sure its not red, weeping, open in any areas? Those are signs of infection, also it being warm to touch. Good luck to you.
