No, most expiration dates are actually "Sell By" dates, and merely suggestions on when the product should be sold by.
And its important to remember that you can get sick by drinking or eating any product, there are bacteria in everything. What an expiration date is, is a calculation on how many bacteria can have grown within the product, or how much of the products quality can be lost between the time of manufacture and the time of consumption.
The expiration date represents a point where less than 99% or so of the products sold have been shown to have lost significant quality, or represented a health risk.
Some products can last longer past an expiration date, and others cannot. I don't think drinking gatorade post date is going to be a problem, but I wouldn't recommend doing it with eggs.
This is because I suspect that the expiration date on Gatorade is more involved with product quality, rather than bacterial growth... which is the case with most dairy products.
If you do get sick the fact that the Gatorade was post date also means that you can't really sue the company for making you sick, after all, by their standards the product was unusable, even though by practical standards I don't think its an issue.
You should be fine. If you do feel sick, or have any gastrointestinal symptoms, call your physician immediately.

I doubt it because you probably alsoread the "best before" date which was Sep 1. Their expiration is actually up to 3 months after sometimes more. It does depend on the product though but in this case (provided it was completely sealed) you wont get sick and you do not need to worry.

G'day Lilgrin
Thank you for your question.
If it was milk, you would be. However, if it tasted OK, you should be fine.
I would look at the bottle. If it says best before, it means that it has passed the date when it is best to drink. If it has use by or sell by September 1, you might have a problem as that generally indicates that the product is unsafe to consume past that date.
I have attached sources for your reference.

OMG! Poor lil you! Make arrangements for the funeral services PRONTO! Gatorade is a toxic cocktail that explodes inside you after the expiration date. You should know better, or um, should have in your case...

I don't think you'll get sick. Plus, you have an immune system, which would counteract all the poisons when it needs to!!!
