The Stones. They are from the old rock tradition of emulating the American blues greats. The Beatles did it initialy but fell off that trend.
Punk came about because of a backlash against long winded rock anthems and unbearable pop fads like disco. Those bands wanted to get back to the raw sound of the mid sixties. Short quick songs that had a lot of energy.
The Ramones were a flash in the pan. Were they to take the stage you'd be wondering why there is a Howard Stern convention in town.
Any band that can trace back to the blues has staying power: Beatles, Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Guns N Roses,

I would choose the Rolling Stones. I am a huge fan of their music. For old guys they are alot easier on the eyes.
My husband and I are opposite ends when it comes to the Ramones and the Stones. I think the Ramones suck and they aren't/weren't that easy on the eyes.
Thank goodness their stint was over before music videos really blew up.

RAMONES,the music is fun and upbeat and were a great band to watch in concert.The stones are just old n tired,the wheel chair and walker tour that wont end.

Very tuff chioce...I love the Ramones but I would have to go with the Stones..bascially they are Legends.

ramones because ramones have their own style and sound, and their music is fun and catchy, whereas the rolling stones have ZERO talent, mcjagger is uglier than sin, and his voice is terrible, they look like trashy gutter rejects, and their songs sound like puke
