Alright, I just read an article about the Numa Numa internet phenomenon. I went on YouTube and there certianly are thousands of Numa Numa "dances". How come I've never heard about this song up until today? Did it get heavy radio play in the US or was it just an internet cult song?

It was a popular Romanian pop song called Dragostea din Tei. It has been around for a few years now; the original video was released by Gary Brolsma. It never got much radio play in the US, in fact, I've never heard it on a pop station. It's pretty much an internet cult song, though it is a real song (unlike 'Milk and Cereal').

If you're in the right places, you shouldn't have heard about the Numa Numa dance.

A guy named Gary Bolsama did a coordinated dance with the song, it became an instant hit on the net, he got reviews from everywhere, he went to various tv shows due to his fame, although he had said he never wanted any of the fame. It was never really ever played on the radio. The song is acutally called "Dragostea din tei" by O-Zone, it's in romainian.

It's basically an internet phenomenon. You want to see the Big guy in the dorm who does the number. That's the one that made it famous. (If it breaks up as it is playing, go back to the beginning and replay it).

The song was never popular among normal people...or outside of japan, but once that video came out of the fat kid pumping his arms and having a jolly ol' time it became popular.

The internet is a strange and scary place...and i love it.
