It is the first time I am going to a European country. I am going to go to Manchester for a week. I hate to be treated as a stupid stranger so can anybody help me about these questions?

How much is the fare for the Taxies in Manchester? What is the starting fee and pay by kilometers and time?

Is it common to tip the taxi drivers, Stewards, Bellboys or Reception if so How much? (I wonder is someone tell me the story of a normal guy tip in Manchester)

Is it possible to pay in USD?

Tip taxi drivers by rounding up the fare to the nearest whole pound.
Tip if someone takes your bags to your room
Don't tip reception
Tip waiters only if you get good service and not if the bill includes a service charge
Of course you can't pay in dollars, you need GBP £. Can you pay by GBP in America ?

Hi there, minimum taxi fare is about £2.50 and that is even if your going somewhere 2 seconds awaybut if you do tip and the fare( for example is £2.50) i would give the guy £3.00, i have lived in manchester most of my life, also there are some free Manchester buses to take you around the town centre,also there are lots of buses and the fares are cheaper than taxi, i know manchester very well so if you have any further questions or need any help just let me know.There are hundreds of cash machines so you will not have a problem taking out money, and yes we only accept english pound

They charge by the mile and go up at night time but are still cheaper than in Belfast. You need to use UK£.
