I suspect I may have a magnesium deficiency, and I wonder how they could test for it.

Go and see your doctor, if you tell them what you think you are missing then they will take a couple of blood samples to get it tested. I had it done a couple of years ago and had the results within 10 days.

Goto the doctor. He'll draw some blood they'll run tests on it and let you know.
