P!ATD is my favorite band ever. I love everything about them. They have a concert coming up next month in Charlotte, NC. (about 4hrs. from where I live) My best friend and I are dying to go. She's 17 and her mom said she could go. However, my parents are saying I can't...and I'm 18. I've explained time and time again, that going to see Panic! would mean the WORLD to me, yet they still say no. You see, the concert is the week before I move to another state, so I really want to go and have one last awesome time here. When I ask them why I can't go, they never give me a reason. Some of my other friends are saying that I should just go anyway because I'm legally an adult and I should be able to make my own decisions. And I do agree with that, plus like I said before, going to this concert would mean so much to me.
What do you think, should I go anyway?
Thanks for reading.

By the way, my friend and I aren't the only two going and neither one of us is driving. Her boyfriend who is 19 is driving, and he's bringing his friend who is 19 as well. So that's a total of three adults. And no, it's not out of state.

I Went To See PATD In Manchesterr I Was Well Good .. There Might Be A Mosh-Pit There As There Was When I Went And That Was An Inside Concert Too,But Mainly At A Concert You've Got The Supporting Act/s And Then You Have To Wait For Agess For The Proper Band To Come On,But Itss Justt Good Fun .. Some Peoplee Go Dressedd Normal,But Big Fans Go With Homemade Tops And Dress Up.

I agree that you are an adult now and you have the right to decide whether you wanna go or not. You need to step into their shoes and think why they don't want you to go.
They are just afraid of leaving you alone. All parents have that fear. For instance, if you have a bike and you can't live without it,
would you leave it on the highway for three days?
I know that this concert means a lot to you. So try and convince them that you are gonna be fine, ask for less money so that they are assured that you will not indulge into wrong doings.
Tell them that you are gonna be in constant touch. and make sure u keep ur words.
All the best buddy, hope you get to see the concert :)

I would say go for it. You are legally an adult and since you like Panic At the Disco and if you have the money then do what your intutition says. If you flake out you will feel guilty. I went to see The Eagles and The James Gang because I was a major fan of it. So my point is you will have a fun time and bring a friend or two. BTW my friend bought the Panic at the Disco CD and likes it.
Good luck.

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

Panic! was one of 6 concerts I attended this summer. It was really good....but yeah..
There are plenty of good ways to fool your parents and whatnot...but those ideas all have bad endings....
Seriously...your best bet would be to
A.) Have your friend's parents call your parents and talk them into letting you go
B.) Taking an adult ( one of your/ your friend's parents, an aunt or uncle ) as a chaperone
C.) Making an agreement as to call every hour that you're gone to check in
Whatever you think would work best. And good luck on getting to go, P!ATD rules. <3

think about wats more important.. The temporary concert.. or your permanent relationship with your parents.. regardless of what you or your friends think.. 18 year old are not able to think for themselves.. your parents are clearly worried about you.. .. find some kind of compromise.. maybe you could plan a family event. .and get them to rent a room and stay there.. if its that important make them take you then..

Your friends are right.
You are legally old enough to make your own decisions.
BUT
don't expect them to welcome you home with open arms.
I don't know if where you are going is across the state line from your home. Maybe your parents are trying to protect you from any possible statutory "problems".
You know how Mom and Dad can be:
Their way or the highway.

G'day Not2faraway,
Thanks for your question.
I would go. You are old enough and are paying for the tickets.
The only reason not to go would be if they were organising a party for you.
They should understand that you aren't a baby.
Go and have a great time.
Regards
