I mostly need to know when and where to shade and fade. Also how to draw "special effects".

as far as i know...on shading you have to figure out where the source of light is or where you want it to be...Say your source of light is from the upper right. Your shade goes to upper left. Experiment on that by looking at the real objects. Once you know the basic principles on still life drawings, it wouldn't be difficult to determine where to "shade and fade."

Also there are many books available at the store... especially for the special effects.

You may find some online tutorials, because there definitely are some good ones out there.

But it is also wise to invest in a good 'how to draw' book. You will definitely be able to find stuff on shading and the like as these belong to the more basic skills and effects.

How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way is a pretty good book.

Just do a search online. There are tons out there.

My advice is to take classes. I don't know your age, but most schools including high schools offer classes, local colleges and generally local artists offer classes several times a year. All libraries have books on drawing. Check the local newpaper generally the art classes are listed in there for times and fees. Good luck!
