You have the Will! That's the most important part! Excellent. I highly...highly recommend you picking up the book: The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous, and Broke by Suze Orman. This book will answer every single one of your questions as well as those you're bound to have soon. I've read it a few times and I give it out as gifts to my friends who are in situation like you or simply want to get early start and take control about educating themselves about money.

Take care, good luck and you can do it!!

You can open a saving account with an ATM card at any bank. The problem is the Bank Manager at each branch does not understand the rules. Some will say no you need a work permit while another branch from the same bank will say ok. So just try until one says yes. I use Bangkok Bank and Krung Thai Bank, K bank is also good. My advise is stay away from Siam City Bank, many more fees and lower Baht to dollar rate then other banks. All banks have fees which are almost all the same because they belong to the same banking organization. There are no fees for deposits or withdrawal, you do pay a small transfer fee if you do an international wire transfer. Interest rate is very very low nothing to get excited about. I wire money to my Bangkok Bank account every month from the USA, and never have a problem my US bank charge $20 fee and Bangkok Bank charge 200 baht fee. To open an account, have your passport, a Thai friend to verify your a upstanding person, and money to deposit into the account.

Look for a good bank that pays a decent interest rate, they say you should save 10% of your earnings. you should take your $15.00 and put it in the bank. Try working at McDonald's or some where like that. From what you have said about your aunt I think she is fair about what she pays you. I would put 1/2 of what she gives for special occasions in your savings account. I would learn how to spell better, do not abbreviate employers are not looking for people who take short cuts. It will help you with your job search. I would start learning about the stock market if you want to save. As a college student you probably should take a course in finance. Good luck to you.

1. Any credit union. Banks suck
2. Get a job!
3. Spend less than you earn.
4. See #3, above.
5. A bit low. But it's family.

There are jobs that don't require experience. Start at Mickey-D's and work up from there. Most corporate CEO's started out at McDonalds. No shame in that.
