A persons status in society should not be a deterrent to punishment. Higher the status the higher the penalty, too many influencial people are getting away with these sort of crimes.
Priests and reverends as you have named them are supposed to reach you the word of God and to behave decently in society, if they themselves cannot behave decently, what is the use of them, they should like all other in positions of trust should be punished in such a way that it makes other parasites who pray on young children think twice.
I am a lawyer and no matter how much I was paid, I would never defend anyone with crimes against children. I would also take up a case against such a person to get maximum punishment.
Castrating is not the only answer, since not only males are involved in this matter, many women also share this hidious crime.
In our prisons there are many prisoners and they do not prescribe to this crime and thus a deserving punishment for the demented child molesters would be to be placed within these jails and let justice take place there.
I am sure that the ordinary prisoners are better capable of better judgement than many of our Judges, who in many cases are scared of or are bought off by the culprits.

Ethically, I fully agree with you.
Those considered as Law Keepers should be definately punished more harshly one way or another!
What I mean, is that a lawyer breaking the Law is much more responsible for that, as a poor guy that can barely read and write, because the Lawyer had specifically studied the Law!
Especially children molestors should be punished extremly harshly!

Considering we had friends that were young when married, she was 16 he was 18, he was convicted of child molestation by his mother in law (yes they still got married when she was old enough though the mother pressed charges). This I do not think is fair.
As for the typical child molester ending the life of the child (the child usually ends messed up in the brain with problems) should the child molesters life end too?
There is no treatment for this, none, nope! They have tried everything from chemically altering the person, from surgery to talking to a group of people, to medication. Does not matter if the person is rich, or a priest or whoever they are!
My thoughts about this, and a mother of three boys. As well as a gun owner....scarey thought for a child molester hu?

Equity in the application of laws must be respected particularly for child moestors despite the differences in the status of persons. The constitution provides for equality which means that people should be treated the same in similar cases.

I'm afraid that you cant punish individuals more hastily than others because of their social status regardless of the crime they commit. I think the punishment for this offense should be VERY SEVERE!

they should all recieve the same punishment as the child is punished for the rest of her his life as they have to live with what has been so cruely done to them it is so wrong to take someones innocence away and these ppl who ever they may be should get the harshest penalty thrust upon then and locked up for life so they may never harm another innocent child .

It is an atrocious crime and no matter who they are, they should all be treated like the scum of the earth and punished to the fullest extent of the law.
I say castrate all of them, lock them up and throw away the key.

It would be unconstitutional to judge one group of persons more harshly than another for the exact same crime.

They should be punished more harshly because they are supposed to be role models and setting good examples.
