That's a good question, and it's hard to answer without knowing all the circumstances.

I think, however, that she may have had no choice but to do just that; very few establishments in general, let alone restaurants, are pet-friendly. That begs the question as to why she felt the need to take the dog along with her in the first place. Maybe she, her friends, and the dog were spending the day in the park and were finding a place for lunch, and it was a choice of putting the dog out in the open or leaving it in the car in the hot sun and putting its life at risk.

Life involves taking calculated risks, and we have to bear the consequences of our actions. That having been said, the argument can be made that she made the best possible decision based on the circumstances. So I don't think she necessarily "deserves it."

If she knew she was going to a restaurant that wouldn't allow dogs, she should have left it at home.

And if the restaurant offered outdoor seating (sounds like it did), she should have chosen that to keep the dog with her.

I'm more worried about the little dog than the woman in this scenario!

It is against all health & safety regulations to have an animal in a food service area, so she really ought not to have bought the dog there in the first place. Still I'd cry if someone took my dog too.

I seen this on the news and i would never leave a dog tied to a chair outside anywhere. Maybe this will teach her a lesson, or maybe someone should tie her up by her neck outside a resturant....

Its still stealing even if she temporarily forgot about the dog. It may be like neglecting a child though. Obviously the person has issues with responsibility.

no, she didn't deserve it. But should have left the dog at home. No one should have taken the dog just cause she made a stupid error in judgement.

perhaps. the smart thing to do would have to have been leave the dog home. that's pretty mean to have him attached to a chair leg
