You can feel movement as you described at 18 weeks. I don't see any reason to doubt the doctor's assessment based on that alone. Did the doctor go by ultrasound or LMP (last menstrual period) to determine gestational age?

It is possible to feel fetal movement at 18 weeks but its unlikely for first time mums as the uterus wall is thicker then someone who has had more then one pregnancy. Normally around 20-22 weeks pregnant for your first baby, but this is only an average. With my first I was 19 weeks and my daughter 17 weeks this time I was 18 weeks. If your meant to be 18 weeks you will be sent for a routine ultrasound which will give you a good indication of how far you really are. Good Luck and remember every baby is different so every pregnancy is different.

Just like every baby, every pregnancy is different. I felt movement with my first at 16 weeks and apparently this is quite normal.
When you have an ultrasound you'll have a much better idea. But you already know you are pregnant, so just be prepared, and it won't matter either way.

Hi! Its normal. Don't stress and to be honest no doctor knows for sure when your baby decides to arrive. My doc was saying I would deliver my daughter March 24th, and she was born on March 11th!!! Sometimes they can be a week or two off and that's normal. Enjoy those kicks. I can't wait to start feeling them soon! Try drinking orange juice or something sweet and feel the baby bounce and kick, its fun!

at 18 weeks you are feeling gas bubbles .. i thought with my first that it was movements but when i could finally feel movement it was completly diffrent from gas. roughly 18 weeks is around the end of your first trimester.... about 3 to 4 months

I am very thin and felt both of my babies around 15-16 weeks. The doc knows by measurements on the ultrasound, so you are probably close to the 18th week.
