They twist around and spread stories to neighbors. Always treated them nice and friendly..but when they found out we were thinking of putting on a small room in back (homes are spaced far apart, lots are big, would be within city code, need no approval from any other homes, no infringement) they went crazy, chased us with questions. I tried to answer, but I myself didn't know.
When they saw my dad in a store, they asked him when we are putting up that addition (small room) My dad said,
they have the blueprints, they can do this anytime. That is why they want us to move. Turns out it has been 5 years and we still can't afford to put that room on (we have a 1 , ) They are so mean...they say mean things aloud so I could hear, just all kinds of ugly behavior. My hubby does not want to move. My friend said they are very envious. What do you think? I can't
believe how these people are behaving.
Sheesh,

Sorry for the typo..meant to say we have a 1 bath ranch, and with it getting tight in the house, we only wanted a little more room for our family. You know what is the most ironic thing? All around us huge additions, 2nd floors, and expanding every which way,
huge additions.. have gone up all around us
and them.

First you tell them that it's none of their business. If problems persist, you can inform the authorities because I believe this would count as harassment. If they want you to move, tell them to move themselves because it's their problem, not yours. 9_9 Jeez... people these days... I'm sorry you have to put up with them.

They have such meaningless lives and feel so isolated themselves that they have nothing better to do than try to bring you down with them. Misery loves company. The best thing to do is ignore them and go about your business. Life is full of people like this. To give those losers a second thought is your loss of time and energy. That negative aspect is always there but take pity on them and try not to let it infiltrate your psyche. If you move, yes, you will be rid of them but maybe you will encounter something equally as bad down the line. It's one of life's bitter lessons in learning how to deal with difficult people in your midst. Say a prayer for them. Life is never smooth sailing and the storms are usually worse closer to the hearth and home.

In the first place I always do WHAT I WANT, never ask the neighbors nothing, hardly know them and leave them alone. My life is mine and theirs is theirs, but if I heard them personally make any unjust or derrogatory remarks, I sure would be equal to the task at that time. Two wrongs don't make a right but silence is not always golden either.

One question; So what??? People talk- it's what alot of people with no lives DO. And they're GOING to do it- no matter what. So here are your choices; you can continue to obsess about it until you drive the people around YOU crazy from hearing about it, OR- you can ignore the stupidity & go about your business. Moving shouldn't have to be an option. Because wherever you go in this life, the town-crier of gossips is BOUND to move in next door. -Take it from " Murphys Law"- rule 17, page 5. :)

There are always one or two difficult neighbors in every neighborhood. I have a nosey neighbor next door and mean gossipy ones next to her. Otherwise, everyone else is fine. Just ignore them. I don't really even talk to those two. But, remember, if you move there will prob. be more like them. If they try to stop me I just say, "Sorry, can't talk - in a hurry".

they are just jealous. let them talk. it is obvious they are board and they have you on their mind. start back saying things to them, get them all together and ask them what is the real problem. why does it bother them so much what you are doing. you are not all up in their house wondering what they will do next. that way they were all there and they can't lie on you and say you said this and that. just as long as they don't touch you

Open your window and have really loud sex with your husband...It will give them something else to talk about. People like that have nothing better to do. Make a game out of it. That's what I do. I give them things to talk about. Or I'll tell them some lie and see if they will tell someone else I know...Don't worry about them. They are bitter and will be that way forever.

You have a smaller house (as I do) amongst larger houses, and houses with additions.. They talk because they they have nothing better to do.. Your addition/small room/ once built will send them into a frenzy..So save your money and get it done and give them something to talk about.

As others have written...don't let them "make" you move..No Surrender!

Take care..don't worry.

You are letting them get to you. Their opinion should carry as much weight as a dog barking. Ignore them, especially when they try to engage you in conversation. It's your house.

Check their background. They have been a**holes, find some dirt, and tell them to shut up, or it becomes public. F 'em. Give 'em a SPANKING!!!
