It's always good to check with a doctor. This happens to me sometimes too...I think it is all the blood loss and hormones.

Yes, this is common; do you have a heavy flow? If so than oh yeah! Most def. And if it is a normal one..even still-feeling dizzy is quite commom and nothing to be alarmed about unless it becomes to the point of falling all the time and getting hurt. Then your need to get some blood work done. Not just your Iron checked; but a CBC and AIC and what ever else the Doctor wants. Just follow up if need be. But for now, I think you are OK. Oh, a AIC test for Diabetics and low blood sugar (sorry)..that would rule that out (or rule in). And a CBC would test your Iron, protein, hemoglobin..the basic stuff.

it's most likely hormonal. If it occurred only 2 hours after you started, I doubt if you had lost much blood at that point, which makes anemia (low iron) less likely- However, not impossible.
You could have been anemic before hand.
And you also have to consider that it may be totally unrelated to your period. How old are you? dizziness can signal something as simple as ear infection, inner ear, sinus troubles, low blood sugar, low blood pressure, even really serious things like stroke.
do you have a headache at this time? could also be an atypical migraine.

if you bleed heavily, it might be a low iron count. you should see a doctor for some blood work, and start taking a daily multivitamin for women with extra iron in it.

Your iron is probably low, try taking a supplement. If the dizzyness doesn't improve see your doctor.
